Although we will discuss the objectives of the scientific, educational, cultural, and communicative systems in greater depth during the fifth round of debate, we would like each participant to indicate to what degree each one of the following objectives can be shared by all the participants:

Back to the portal

01. To moderate information and 'data abuse' through the use of conscience and understanding, as well as enabling an ascent to the more subtle spheres of the spirit and culture.

02. To detach science and technology from business, avoiding their subordination to economic groups or State domination interests, instead relocating them inside an extensive spectrum of knowledge as a world heritage.

03. Scientific results should belong to the whole of society and not to industrial (or other forms of) monopoly. Advancements in  technological and scientific knowledge should benefit all, in opposition to the current supremacy of the immediate, private commercial benefit.

04. To develop dialogical and plural systems of global mass media, open to all voices: from the local to the global, avoiding its conversion into a private business and its use as a mechanism of free-thought control.

05. To promote a liberating and significant education for all throughout their lives.
Comments (2)
06. We want alternative educational processes that will teach us how to address the many forms of violence, as they are directly preventing us from satisfying our basic needs. This alternative education will also teach us how to enact peace at all levels and in all areas of our individual lives as well as in our local and global society.

07. We must protect cultures through adequate means in the various dimensions of their expressions.
Comments (3)
08. We must look to de-legitimise capitalism as an expression of dehumanising modernity, by using all possible spaces to develop critical thinking with regards to the economy, ecology, politics and culture.

09. To put an end to the commercialization of the female body in society, especially in the mass media and advertising, for their major capacity to generate public opinion, of making visible what is important and what is not. Gender inequality is at the base of the pyramid that supports chauvinist violence: violence against women and children, but also against any person, justified by the model of male supremacy.

General comments
Many repetitions in different parts, weak subordination of propositions

It is a little difficult to vote. Are we voting for what we might like to see happen, or pertain? Or are we voting for ideas that might prove most useful to achieving change? Many comments are merely aspirations, disconnected from any possibility of being useful to bringing about change.

The proposals are good, but even could better, specific, and easily understandable. Objectives of the scientific, educational, cultural, and communicative systems shouldn't be articulated in vague terms.

Proposals seems to be more from the realms of wishes then explains how you want to achieve them. For instance to counterpause Violence to Non Violence in a simplistic manner. Imperialist wars are waged in Irak, Afganistan and Palestine then you have Racism and Casteism . Will revolting against such Barbarism be termed as " Violence ".
