Indicate to what degree you believe each of the following values can be shared by all participants.

01. More than proposing a set of universal values, fundamental human rights must be reaffirmed – health, education, respect, the right to choose – , and actions that lead to the recognition and respect of human and cultural values relevant to each local or national context be stimulated.

02. Our real values are not those included in our speeches, be they simple or complex; they are, and they only are, those which are contained in our everyday practices, from family life up to our permanent, professional activities, both of which form a part of political life itself. We are only political beings who do what we do; what we buy, what we throw away, the transportation that we use, and the way in which we listen to others, what we promise and then fulfill.

03. The diversity of values must be a constitute element of any society, making sure that none of these values compromises the dignity of the other, nor bases itself in black and white definitions of culture; but, at the same time, recovers key ancestral cultural elements.

04. The values of Sumak Kawsay (“good living”) derived from the original peoples of the Andes, must be given priority over those of the global capital:

the balance of one with himself,

the balance with others within his community,

the balance amongst societies,

the balance with nature.

Comments (3)
05. “Good living” for all - as a more important value than material well-being - as an alternative to “quantitative growth” in all areas, in order that everyone can develop to their maximum potential: the material as well as intellectual, artistic, spiritual, ethical...

06. Active nonviolence as a coherent principle to transform the world. Active nonviolence as a path to build a just peace without violence, neither physical, nor psychological, nor structural; to fight against all forms of domination, discrimination, exploitation, and corruption; to renounce the violence that creates more violence, to renounce the exploitation that generates more exploitation and to deny cooperation to the persons and organizations that promote violence and exploitation, as a means to have them desist.
Comments (3)
07. To value social and natural diversity as a human heritage.
Comments (2)
08. The recognition of difference (including nature as a subject with rights).
Comments (3)
09. The richness of multiculturalism as opposed to the uniforming civilizatory tendencies.
Comments (2)
10. The preservation and development of a dignified life for all. Mother Nature must be an ethical limitation in all human actions, and must be expressed in institutions and values built in agreement with that.
Comments (3)
11. Peace must be built within an ethical framework in all human actions, expressed in institutions and values that are in accordance with this.
Comments (3)
12. We must help to solve social injustice in the world and the destruction of the planet. Primarily, we need to repair the major damage done to peoples and to nature. Reparation of the historical debt must be made to the working classes, to agricultural peoples, and to minorities - paid in cash and in effective services and without any bonds -, and drastic environmental conservation measures are needed, those which will end the exploitation of labor and neo-colonial natural resources.
Comments (2)
13. To overcome the violence amongst peoples, classes, sectors and social groups, where the will to dominate and abuse breeds hatred and more violence.
Comments (3)
14. Our security cannot rely solely on military apparatus. We must use intelligence, prevention and persuasion with the values of education and solidarity.
Comments (3)
15. The respect for others, the honest wish to provide for the common good and enhancement of social constructs, to being well disposed to work as a team and not being fooled by exaggerated selfishness that in the end leads to inefficiency and the imposition of some people over others. To develop one's chores with honor, with transparency, with excellence, and, if possible, as a group; the result being an integration of different parts.
Comments (3)
16. The culture of peace as a prevention of violence, intolerance and injustice in our countries and societies in order to surpass the worship of war.  The culture of peace must be seen as the essence of a new global civilization based on interior identity and exterior diversity.  The blooming of the culture of peace will generate in us the attitude that is prerequisite for the transition from force to reason, from conflict and violence to dialogue and peace. The culture of peace will provide the necessary basis for a prosperous, progressive, and stable world for all.
Comments (4)
17. Peacework is a continuous process and each one of us can contribute to its advancement.  Only then will the world be a better place to live. The seed of such peace exists in all human beings, but it should be nourished, cared for and promoted by all of us - be it as individuals or as collective groups, so it can flourish.  Such peace cannot be imposed from outside but should be carried out from within.
Comments (3)
18. The money we use and the way in which we use it reflects the values we have about the existence of abundance and the shortage of resources on the planet. Buying "cheap" may mean generating less employment and work in our local area, and at the same time maintain slave labor far away...  On the other hand, to use local social currencies can be an act of political emancipation, starting from the local economy.
Comments (3)
19. The values of the process of change. The really important values are the ones we generate and bring to bear, to get from here to the world we want to create. These are the ones that will form the starting point of rebuilding the world in a manner that we want, after weakening or defeating the currently-dominant values. These must be transparent, democratic, participative and inclusive.

20. Be inspired by the values of old matristic societies*, where care, cooperation and the flow hindered competence, voracity and accumulation. This is feasible today thanks to the possibility of access to knowledge, which can grant new networks (that we still need to build) the power to reconstruct social relations. (*These existed between 8000-5000 BC, in the area of the Danube and the Balkans).
Comments (2)
21. Instead of nationalism, we want planetary consciousness: awareness that all humans and all living beings on this Earth are interconnected and that well-being of all is connected to the well-being of each one of us.
Comments (2)
22. We should keep our ancient wisdom and heritage of agricultural civilizations alive for our future world.
Comments (3)
23. Traditional values are at the core of each and every single global spiritual tradition particularly in the ancient ‘cosmotheandric’ religions which considered the entire cosmos to be sacred or divine. They are also found in all major modern “monotheist” religions: Ubuntu or Muntu in Africa, which mean I exist because you exist; Mutafikileen in Islam means interdependence; Christ says love your neighbor as yourself; Judaism values the ‘ger’ or stranger and treats him/her with special respect as God itself; Buddhism is based on a connected web of life; Hinduism believes in ‘Vasudevakutumbukam’ – a Vedic verse says: the wise know that there is no such thing as ‘me’ and ‘other’, as we are all part of one divine universal family (Vasudevakutumbukam).
Comments (4)
24. In the future world, each traditional value will find its place within the “family” of global values.
Comments (4)
25. We want people to value solidarity and reciprocity in their communities, preserving their cohesion: working as families formed by kinship or affinity.
Comments (3)
26. If a subject of neoliberal globalization is always to be arrogant and selfish, then we need an alternative subject of being humble and considerate.
Comments (3)
27.  We must succeed to put the Human and its rights and interests as the only relevant criteria in our answers concerning the future of our global village.
Comments (2)
28. Two values should guide us: the principle of full equality between all the human beings and the principle of global solidarity.
Comments (5)
29. Without a doubt the most important traditional value that HAS to be recovered if we are to survive is solidarity and interdependence. Combined with this is the recognition of ONENESS or UNITY. The two reinforce each other and go together – because we are all ultimately ONE, i.e. from one common source, we are all unique and indispensable parts of a greater whole. Thus we are and have to be interdependent as the whole cannot function if even its tiniest part doesn’t function. How else then can we act but out of solidarity and compassion for one another.
Comments (2)
30. Collective destiny implies global solidarity at another level and might be a necessary precursor to developing the "new world" that we imagine:
Comments (1)
30.1. Common or collective fate embodies, but goes beyond, the concept of interdependence to imply that one’s destiny is literally tied to the destiny of others. A sense of collective fate may be a necessary precursor to embracing the value of sufficiency, particularly for those who over-consume, or those who have been denied the “opportunity” to over-consume.
Comments (1)
30.2. Global solidarity is another important value, but one can stand in solidarity with other movements but not feel that one’s life outcomes are tied to others.
Comments (1)
30.3. Sufficiency affords those in poverty, unable to meet basic standards of livelihood, sufficient access to food, water, and energy, etc.  At the same time, the concept implies that those who currently engage in over-consumption limit their use of resources to only what is sufficient for a moderate standard of living.

31. Instead of religious fundamentalism that focuses on our differences, we want inclusive spirituality that asks what it is that all of us have in common. This inclusive spirituality will accept that spiritual experience can be achieved through a variety of means and pathways, and that ultimately it is the journey (potentially full of trials and errors) that counts. Instead of a blind belief in truths as given by certain religious authorities that may not be either accurate or work for us, we want to have the freedom to freely explore a relationship with our own soul and with the sacredness of our own life, all life, nature and the universe. In matters of spirituality, as in all matters, we want to remain free to exercise our (God? Nature? Spirit? Being? Higher consciousness?) faculties of reasoning and critical thinking.

Comments (1)
32. Respect for diversity of religious belief, ethnic difference, critical thought, and plurality of views.
Comments (4)
33. Our main objective should be to replace the “religion” of individual/corporative profit with a political philosophy in which the development of Humanity (material as well as cultural) is the only guiding value.
Comments (2)
34. We must aim for the defence of mankind and the love of one's neighbour in a post-capitalist reality.
Comments (4)
35. Peace, freedom, tolerance, equality and respecting each other, etc. remain as the universal value for human beings. For this reason, however, I will hesitate in repeating these clichés, because the passive truths have become active lies. They seem to be too expensive in the light of the fact that there are billions of people whose lives are not secured.

Creative/interesting way to allow people from the whole world to be part of the debate. How these ideals are summarized and presented to the public later and how they are encouraged and promoted in actions is also very important, as we realiase that social democracies have not been in a position to defend and stand for ideals that are so obvious in the process of creating a world where all humans are at home and honoured

I have rated the fist 35 items on the basis of their practicability, the last three are too altruistic and must be reassessed for a more practicable set of values if they are to be anything more than the Holy Alliance of Europe after Napoleon.
